Progress Reports & Shadow Day

Parents,

Progress Reports are being mailed home today, so watch your mailboxes, and contact your child's teachers if you have any questions or concerns.

Parents of 8th Graders:

Shadow Day @ Killeen High is Tuesday, Dec. 16th! This is a special event designed to give our 8th graders an opportunity to see their future campus and attend classes alongside their future classmates. Last year's event was a big success, and we look forward to another great day.

Students must return their permission form with parent signature in order to attend Shadow Day.

Thank you for your support!

December is Here!

Parents,

It's hard to believe, but we are now in December!

This week, December 1 - 5, we will be mailing out Progress Reports. Our plan is to get them in the mail to you by Thursday, Dec. 4.

Also, please remember the second nine weeks is winding down. We have only 15 school days until Christmas break, and then only 9 school days in January before the semester ends.

Watch your mailbox for your child's progress report, and be sure to contact your child's teachers if you have any questions.

Thank you for your support!

Wondering Who Won?

On Friday, we held our Mock Presidential Election, and promised to announce the results Monday.

If you're checking the blog tonight, you get a sneak preview...

The student body of Rancier Middle School has elected Senator Barack Obama as President of the United States. Students are encouraged to watch election returns Tuesday evening to see if our results match those of the national election.

Parents, you should also be receiving a letter with your child's report card. Be sure to check out Study Island! If your child does not have a login ID, a new one is available in the library.

See you Monday!

Time to Vote!

It's almost Election Day, and Rancier Middle School is ready to vote!

We will be holding a mock presidential election here at RMS on Friday, October 31st, in our Activity classes. We are also teaching our students how the Electoral College works in our presidential elections, and we're using our Activity classes to simulate the Electoral College in our mock election.

We plan to announce our results on Monday, November 3rd.

Let's see if RMS predicts the outcome of the election on the 4th!

A New 9 Weeks

Friday, October 24th, marked the end of the first nine weeks of the 08-09 school year.

Parents, if you haven't already done so, now is a great time to make contact with your child's teachers to discuss progress and goals for the second nine weeks. E-mail is an easy way to get in touch and stay in touch. Our teachers' e-mail addresses can be found on the KISD web site, at the Rancier Middle School page.

One of our goals for this year is to increase our percentage of students passing all classes, and we ask for your help in making this goal a reality.

Have a great week!
